So are you going to tell us which one, or are we supposed to guess? If we’re supposed to guess, I’m going with 2 gig nano.
No, not supposed to guess… Actually, I was going to get the 2 GB nano, but I found the refurb minis on their website for $50 less and 2 GB more storage, so I just got a 2nd gen 4 GB iPod mini (silver), and an FM transmitter for the car, for less than I would have spent on the nano. So yeah, not as cool perhaps, but at least a semi-practical choice, in my opinion…
So, in that regard, I guess I’m not as trendy as you, Stu… 😛
Just so everyone knows, in order for Andy to buy the iPod, he had to admit that he only wanted it because it’s trendy, not because he needs it or couldn’t use another way to do the same thing it will do. So, he’s finally admitted what we all knew all along…
I’d like to refer you to the post made the 10th of December (I think), at 9:54pm.. entitled, “For the Record”. Look specifically at the comments section.
….
you’re so trendy it hurts
I hate you all… And Nathan, there was a little sarcasm in that comment from December…but generally, it’s true.
Although, in my defense, my excuse for “needing” such a thing is that I’m going to be working in a lab environment for many years and I’ve noticed that many people have some form of MP3 player so that they don’t have to listen to the radio if they don’t want to…and having something that holds more than 256 MB (like my current MP3 player…a MUVO TX…) would be useful. Find me an MP3 player that’s higher rated and holds 4-5 GB-worth of music and is relatively cheap! The closest ones I saw were the Creative Zen Micro, and Circuit City has the 6 GB version for $180 and it’s got relatively high customer ratings…but it’s battery life isn’t quite as good and C|Net seems to like the iPod Mini a bit better…due to interface, adonized-aluminum construction, and about 3x transfer time between computer and MP3 player than the Zen Micro does… So, overall, they liked the mini better than the micro…
So yeah…I did a little research…and it isn’t just the trendy factor…there’s also a little performance between comparable systems… 😛
but……..whenever you’re in a lab, your laptop is always close by and therefore the ability to constantly change the songs on the mp3 player you already own….just give it up…you want to be trendy…the next thing you know, you’ll be buying your own gap boxers
lol
Never!!!
😉
Tell Brooke I love her. She is amazing. Only she could point out how truly trendy you are….I mean, it’s so trendy to be pasty white and bald and have a beer belly and….hee hee : )
You can’t call me trendy, I haven’t bought clothing, other than replacement tennis shoes and shorts, in about, oh, a decade. All my other clothing I get for free (much to the chagrin of the woman).
And as you bought a dicontinued model, that makes you retro-trendy. 😉
Yay for Brooke! I think I love you 100x more because you got Andy to admit the trendiness. EVERYONE here (and by everyone I mean the European population as a whole) has an iPod and it’s SO annoying! It’s addictive or something, no one can walk down the street or sit in the tube without having their damn horrible British BBMak crap blaring so loud that only I can hear it because everyone else has earphones stuffed in their ears! AAAAA! I must also say that I enjoy Paige’s statement about being pasty white, bald, and beer bellied. heh heh heh….Andy’s a fatty! 😛
