06.10.11 Dinner

Even after several years of a photography project in 4-H, my picture taking skills are still lacking. I was always better at composition and not the technical aspects. This dinner was tilapia, pasta salad, and oranges. I had planned to grill the fish, but the weather didn’t cooperate, so it was pan-fried instead.

06.07.11 Dinner

It was really hot last week, so we put our grill to good use to avoid heating up the house even more. Italian sausage, peppers and onions, and potatoes with fresh herbs that Mallory gave me for my birthday!

06.03.11 Dinner

When Andy’s parents brought Meg back from her week at their house, we had shrimp kabobs, potatoes, and Andy’s mom’s Chinese salad. Also, homebrew and homemade margaritas!

06.01.11 Dinner

Grilled chicken breasts, green beans (at this rate, we’ll still be eating last year’s green beans while I’m canning this year’s), and egg noodles. I’m looking forward to the day when I can make my own egg noodles with eggs from our chickens!

05.27.11 Dinner

The last week of school, Meg at Grandma and Grandpa’s, and new chickens have kept me too busy to remember to post our dinners, so I’m a little behind! This was my birthday dinner of bacon-wrapped sirloin, fresh broccoli, and buttered new potatoes! Andy got out of making my birthday cake this year by taking me to Dairy Queen instead since my mom made Jello Poke Cake while we were at their house!

05.21.11 Dinner

I thought we had some frozen ground turkey and beef, but we didn’t, so these were “mini chicken parmesan” with spaghetti. Really, they were the end of a bag of chicken nuggets covered with cheese, but I won’t tell if you don’t!

05.19.11 Dinner

Dinners recently have been mostly repeats, so not much to post. Last night’s dinner was also something we have frequently, and takes pretty much no effort: stir fry and egg rolls. But, I thought you might want to see something we ate for once!!

05.08.11 Dinner

Fried egg sandwiches and mango-berry smoothies. The mango was from a can and was WAY easier to figure out than cutting up a fresh one, and just as good!
