Tacos. Somehow, though, we ended up with a head of cabbage instead of lettuce. This is what happens when you try to buy a month’s worth of groceries on a Friday night after a long week when the weather’s nice and the store is super busy. Anyway, I went ahead and shredded the cabbage and gave it a little vinegar and salt so we could have some crunch in our tacos. Turned out ok, but I wouldn’t do it on purpose!
Along with two kinds of shredded cheese and cheese crackers she had for her dinner, Meg really enjoyed the cream cheese frosting on the banana bars we had for dessert!

This pic is better than great! Reminds me of Vanna White’s “showing off the letters” pose!! She does have her little sweet tooth doesn’t she?!?!?
how could you ever scold that face?
Cabbage on tacos is _awesome_ though! Shred cabbage, add a sliced red onion, then toss with a sweet vinaigrette: 1/4 C red wine vinegar, ~2 T mayo, ~1-2 T sugar, ~1/3-1/2 C olive oil, salt and pepper.
I usually pair this with black beans & chicken, but it’d work with most anything. I think the first time I had cabbage on tacos was at Nacho Mamma in STL and it was a revelation.
Wow Stuart! That sounds yummy. Basically making a slaw and adding it to a taco. Makin’ me hungry!
Yeah – it works on BBQ, why not tacos?
Because tacos are God’s food. And God doesn’t like cabbage.
Or green beans, for that matter. Or ‘shrooms. As they all cause cancer.
I can understand not liking mushrooms, and _maybe_ cabbage (how you can dislike such an inoffensive veggie, I dunno), but green beans? There’s something seriously wrong with you.
And yes I’ve known forever that you don’t like them, but it doesn’t make it any less ridiculous.
I still think Nacho Mama is, bar none, the greatest name for a restaurant ever.
