  1. The Federation symbol looks funky. Hasn’t it ‘evolved’ yet?? And help me understand how this movie is supposed to sync with the “Enterprise” series that was on. Will the movie be prior to the series?

Does it actually open ON Christmas Day?? As in you want to attend 11:00 Christmas Eve service and then to straight to the movie theater?? 😉

  2. Yes, it opens on Christmas Day…and yes, we’re going… Brooke has been warned… 😛

So far as the symbol and such goes, it’s just the classic “Star Trek” insignia with a silver color… And as far as the “sync-ing” goes, this movie takes place between the shows “Enterprise” and “Star Trek,” so as you see in the trailer, you see the original construction of the USS Enterprise. Christopher Pike is supposed to make an appearance, so presumably, if you’re talking episodes, this movie should take place between the pilot episode (“The Cage”) and the first episode with James T. Kirk in command (“Where No Man Has Gone Before”). All of the original characters are present, obviously with different actors/actresses.

I can tell you about the plot if you want, but maybe you don’t want to know too much 😛 I don’t know the ending or anything, but I know where the rumors are going about how Leonard Nimoy is integrated into the plot, and how he meets himself in the past.

  3. Interesting! But if they’re showing the construction of the Enterprise; what was the ‘Enterprise’ we saw in “Enterprise”? A prototype or something?? And, no, I don’t want to know the plot because that would spoil it for me, I think. Unless there’s time travel involved and if that’s the case you may need to brief me beforehand so I can follow it!

The insignia just didn’t look right. Maybe I’ve never seen it up close before.

  4. Yes, there’s time travel involved. I will say this, though: the basic plotline involves the Guardian of Forever, as seen in “The City at the Edge of Forever.” At least, this is what’s rumored.

And no, that Enterprise is the NCC-1701 as seen in “Star Trek,” while the one in the show “Enterprise” is the NX-01 (meaning it’s an experimental ship). As far as the insignia goes, that’s just the classic design. And the one in “ST:TNG” is similarly shaped, but has a gold oval behind it.
