Thanks, Rabbi…

…so, I pick up 3 CSA shares every Tuesday for our clients so that they can get a little closer to where their food comes from and eat at least an occasional healthy meal.  Yesterday, I picked up this:

csa-63009You might not be able to see them, but there are three bags of peas in there.  While I was loading up my produce, a lady asked Rabbi Brad, who was in charge, where peas come from.  His response?  “I don’t know, a pea tree?”

  1. Ah, I love the land of the pea trees! Where at harvest time, we lay out blankets and gently shake the pea tree branches, and the plump peas come plopping down. It’s a beautiful place.

  2. well…….where I grew up they came from plants which required hours of bending over in the garden to pick them, and then more hours to pod them, only to get 1 c of produce! They sure were good tho! Guess things grow differently in Hannibal

  3. sad news on the home front…”naked man” went airborne again last night. Unfortunately, he didn’t fair so well. He now has a hole in his left leg, has a black eye and other superficial burns on his body. He will still be available for next year though. He will just have to rest up some first.
